Pool remodel idea: a new pool deck and modern aluminum pergola beside a backyard pool in South Florida

Pool remodeling

A Better Pool Without Starting From Scratch.

Most pools in Broward County, Florida were built for the way people lived when the house went up: a big deep end, narrow steps and a thin ring of deck. Today, families want somewhere to lounge in the water, a spa for cooler evenings and a backyard that works after dark.

Pool remodeling changes the design of the pool you already have. Canet Group reshapes steps and shallow areas, adds sun shelves and spas, builds in lighting and water features, and extends the deck, all planned as one design so nothing looks pieced together. Only need a fresh finish? See our pool renovation services.

Every project starts with a free on-site estimate. We measure the pool and the yard, talk through how you want to use the space and give you a clear written quote.

Why remodel

Why Broward Homeowners Remodel Their Pools.

A remodel is about how the pool works for your family now, not just how it looks.

01

More Room to Lounge

A bigger shallow end or a sun shelf gives people a place to sit, play and cool off.

02

A Spa for Cooler Nights

A raised or spillover spa turns the backyard into a year-round retreat.

03

Easier Ways In and Out

Wide steps, benches and swim-outs make the pool comfortable for kids and guests.

04

A Backyard That Works at Night

LED lighting on steps, shelves and walls makes the pool safer after sunset.

05

Resort-Style Movement

Waterfalls, scuppers, deck jets and bubblers add sound and motion.

06

A Deck Sized for Real Life

Extend the deck so there is room for loungers, dining and shade.

What we change

What a Broward Pool Remodel Can Change.

Pick one upgrade or combine several. We design them together so the finished pool looks like it was always built that way.

01

Layout & Shape Changes

When the pool no longer matches how you use it, we rework the structure: expanding shallow areas, reducing an oversized deep end, reshaping steps and entries, and adding built-in seating or lounge zones.

Popular Changes

  • Sun shelves
  • Expanded shallow ends
  • Reduced deep ends
  • Wide entry steps
  • Benches & swim-outs
02

Spa Additions

A new spa can sit raised with a spillover into the pool or flush with the deck. We plan the seating, jets and plumbing so it runs on the same system as the pool.

Spa Options

  • Raised spas
  • Spillover spas
  • Bench seating
  • Jet systems
  • In-water lounge zones
03

Water Features

Water features add the movement and sound homeowners picture when they think of a resort pool, and they give the backyard a focal point.

Feature Options

  • Waterfalls
  • Scuppers
  • Deck jets
  • Bubblers for sun shelves
  • Raised walls with spillways
04

LED Lighting

Old pool lights are often dim and uneven. We replace them with energy-efficient LEDs and add light where people actually step and sit, so the pool is safer and more striking at night.

Lighting Options

  • Color-changing LEDs
  • Smart controls
  • Step & shelf lighting
  • Underwater lighting
05

Decks, Tile & Coping

A new layout deserves a finished frame. We update waterline tile, coping and the deck, and extend the deck when you need room to entertain. Many Broward homeowners choose clean blues, grays, whites and natural stone looks.

Popular Choices

  • Glass tile borders
  • Mosaic accents
  • Travertine coping
  • Pavers
  • Stamped concrete

Signs it’s time

Signs Your Pool Layout No Longer Fits.

If these sound familiar, a remodel will change more than a fresh finish can.

  • A deep end that takes up most of the pool
  • No place to sit or lounge in the water
  • Steep or awkward steps
  • No spa for cooler evenings
  • A pool that goes dark at night
  • A deck too small for furniture

Can you change the shape of my pool during a remodel?

Yes. We can expand shallow areas, reduce an oversized deep end, rework steps and entries, and add benches, swim-outs or a sun shelf. We confirm what your pool’s structure allows during the free on-site visit.

Can a spa be added to an existing pool?

In most cases, yes. We build raised or flush spas with a spillover into the pool and plan the plumbing and equipment so both run together.

A sun shelf is a wide, shallow ledge where you can sit, lounge or let kids play in a few inches of water. Many Broward homeowners add one with bubblers during a remodel.

Do I need a permit to remodel a pool in Broward County?

Structural, plumbing and electrical changes usually need a permit from your city’s building department. We prepare the drawings, file the permit and schedule the inspections.

Can you help with HOA approval?

Yes. Many communities in Weston, Coral Springs, Pembroke Pines and Miramar have HOA rules. We prepare the drawings and material details your association asks for.
